For me, the most hair-raising part of developing a completely new game is just getting started. This is when you have to make an endless string of decisions about the game that have to be right. One wrong critical decision now might or might not ruin the game, but will certainly deflate some of the polish and sense of excitement from the finished game. Fixing problems later on can take a tremendous amount of time and effort, at a point when time can equal a great deal of money.

Granted, this is all tremendous fun as well.

Nothing gives me bigger problems than the visual appearance of the game, complicated by the fact that I have little artistic talent and less training. I’ve spent a lot of time with the appearance of the game I started on recently. The first issue was designing the original nine playable and eleven non-playable species, and I decided to give them a vaguely non-terrestrial look reflected in various odd proportions together with combinations of shaggy manes, crests and ruffs.

The first thing I noticed was that solid shading or any type of ‘cartoony’ style simply did not work. In these stylized artistic styles, skewed proportions are a normal part of the appearance and your eye just takes it for granted. The odd proportions that I was trying to capture effectively disappeared. Airbrushed shading is very time-consuming, but it adds enough realism that the long, thin bodies and rangy limbs retain the off-normal look I needed. I reluctantly decided that airbrush shading was the only way to go, since it usually takes more time than solid shading.

Once upon a time,
Birdy tried to rhyme.

She didn't do too well
And all her rhymes fell,
flat as a pancake. But we won't dwell,
on her rhyming skills. Which fail.

That's Pomeranians for you. Some of them will let you do anything to them as long as they're getting attention. I should really post a picture of my miniature coyote.

Hey, Uncle Bilbo, I was just curious if I'm still going to be featured in your Chez Weewoo horror spoof, even though I've been frozen. I know that I'm not really and NTAGer anymore and I don't want to sound selfish, but I would really like to be featured one more time.

Either way, thanks for considering my opinion
:iconuncle-bilbo:
Yes, of course! I've already been giving a spare thought or two to what that story should be about.

And you will be back. I've heard stories from a number of people who did get back their accounts, and unfortunately it does usually take some time. You deserve to keep the name that went on all those stories, just as you deserve the quills your earned for them.
:iconagreenparrot:
Thanks so much. When you said that it may require some prodding of TNT, how often did you mean. Should I send a form every month, or an e-mail reply to my first rejection?
Again thanks a bunch for the support.
:iconuncle-bilbo:
Actually, my experience with frozen accounts is very third-hand, but I get the impression that two or three weeks is or used to be normal. I think I should refer you to Lady Nimras. She posted her more experienced advice, but I don't know if you ever came back in to see it. She mentioned knowing a number of people first-hand who had gotten back their accounts.

I do suspect that prodding TNT from time to time can be taken as proof of your innocence and sincerity. The true evil-doers probably just cut and run.
