Once again, Eleanor from Fevley’s comic Zink, updating here [link] with the older archives here [link] along with other stuff where Sasha and Aust is presently updating. I saw these flying around not long ago and thought this was a good excuse to pick on Eleanor once again. Good-natured abuse, I should say. Eleanor is not a bad guy but guide and guardian of the good guys, sort of like Gandalf with rampaging PMS.

Zink has a hand-drawn look because it is, sketched on paper with color by color pencil and then scanned. I can’t do that, so instead I used this as an opportunity to experiment with some new Photoshop effects for a look I’ve been considering for a future project. This uses a very limited number of colors and almost no shading in layer effects to give the look of a transparent color wash.

In many ways I turned this into an anti-meme, something of a satire aimed at obsessive fandom. I explained that to Eleanor and she was actually very willing to play along with that. I suspect that she likes being drawn smexy more than she would ever admit.

Also with this, I have become aware of two interesting statistics. I’ve probably drawn Eleanor more times than anyone except yourself. And I may have drawn Eleanor nekkid/near-nekkid even more times than you have. Maybe.

Now that you mention it, Eleanor did slip off the other day. When I asked where she was, she started ranting about cats being mysterious creatures and how I should respect that. Then she took a nap. Smexily.
