Last Train

'Take the last train to Clarksville and I'll meet you at the station. . ."

Ho boy, this piece is almost an antique! As far as I recall, it was one of my first attempts a complex 3D design and the first time that I had used 3D Studio Max together with Animetec World Builder to provide landscape details. They were a great pair, since 3DS Max could run inside World Builder and World Builder could run as a plug-in in Max. We're talking about the late 90's here, and it stressed my computer to the ragged edge. The trees were the weird mutated things that existed at the time with branches at random angles and the shadow maps were stinky.

The train was adapted from a Hudson freight engine from about the early 30's. Don't bother to tell me that there are designs flaws. I used a drawing that had those flaws as my guide and I didn't know it until later. Since I wasn't being paid to do this piece, I wasn't motivated to go back and fix things.
